ABAP Programming Error

Category :  ABAP Programming Error
Runtime Errors: READ_REPORT_LINE_TOO_LONG
Except.: CX_SY_READ_SRC_LINE_TOO_LONG

Detail explanation of the dump:
The internal table "\FUNCTION=K_KKB_FIELDCAT_MERGE\DATA=L_ABAP_SOURCE[]" is 72 characters wide. The program line is 81 characters wide.

Reason:
Function REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE dumps if the program contains lines longer than 72 characters, even if the lines are comment lines.

Solution:
An easy remedy is to turn on the switch preventing lines to be longer than 72.
(Utilities -> settings. Tab-page “ABAP-Editor”, sub tab-page “Editor”, set a check mark in the field “Downwards-Comp. Line Lngth(72)”).

SAP GUI 7.30 for Windows

Whats new in SAP GUI 7.30 for Windows?
SAP GUI 7.30  (shipped on 26th June 2012) was bundled with lots of new features. SAP published information on the version differences and a comparison in SAP Note 1670678.

New SAP GUI design "Corbu": The new "Corbu" design comes with a reduced color palette and enables a good integration into NWBC and SAP Portal with respect to look and feel. Additionally, the icons used in SAP GUI have been re-designed for Corbu and SAP Signature Design (by default the old icons are still active in SAP Signature Design).

Support for different color schemes in SAP Signature Design: The color scheme can be changed per system and even per client in order to distinguish different systems more easily. SAP offers 5 different color schemes (blue, red, green, purple and gold). Additionally, a system administrator can define a default color scheme per system.
Many theme options available.
 The new "Corbu" design.
Longer lifetime: SAP GUI for Windows 7.30 is built with Visual Studio 2010 (which is supported until July 2015). Therefore, SAP GUI for Windows 7.30 can be supported longer than release 7.20 (see also note 147519).
Comments for the connection entries can be defined.
Indication of Security status (You can see a lock /unlock symbol in the status bar).

BW 3.5 front-end addon is no longer shipped with this version.

Administrators can add a logo in the title bar of SAP Signature design to allow customer specific branding on SAP GUI screens.

For a complete list of updates, refer SAP Note 1670678.

MM Process flow in SAP

MM Process flow:

The typical procurement cycle for a service or material consists of the following phases:

1. Determination of Requirements:

Materials requirements are identified either in the user departments or via materials planning and control. (This can cover both MRP proper and the demand-based approach to inventory control. The regular checking of stock levels of materials defined by master records, use of the order-point method, and forecasting on the basis of past usage are important aspects of the latter.) You can enter purchase requisitions yourself, or they can be generated automatically by the materials planning and control system.

2. Source Determination:

The Purchasing component helps you identify potential sources of supply based on past orders and existing longer-term purchase agreements. This speeds the process of creating requests for quotation (RFQs), which can be sent to vendors electronically via SAP EDI, if desired.

3. Vendor Selection and Comparison of Quotations

The system is capable of simulating pricing scenarios, allowing you to compare a number of different quotations. Rejection letters can be sent automatically.

4. Purchase Order Processing

The Purchasing system adopts information from the requisition and the quotation to help you create a purchase order. As with purchase requisitions, you can generate Pos yourself or have the system generate them automatically. Vendor scheduling agreements and contracts (in the SAP System, types of longer-term purchase agreement) are also supported.

5. Purchase Order Follow-Up

The system checks the reminder periods you have specified and - if necessary - automatically prints reminders or expediters at the predefined intervals. It also provides you with an up-to-date status of all purchase requisitions, quotations, and purchase orders.

6. Goods Receiving and Inventory Management

Goods Receiving personnel can confirm the receipt of goods simply by entering the Po number. By specifying permissible tolerances, buyers can limit over- and underdeliveries of ordered goods.

7. Invoice Verification

The system supports the checking and matching of invoices. The accounts payable clerk is notified of quantity and price variances because the system has access to PO and goods receipt data. This speeds the process of auditing and clearing invoices for payment.
